Now THIS is what I call a simple recipe that can fulfill any salty snack craving.
I definitelyyyyyy, 100%, almost always get sweet cravings (Dark chocolate you ask? Makes my heart melt), but when a salty, crunchy chip rolls around, I’m not one to deny it!
Enter: The Kale Chip.
A dark leafy green full of crunch, flavor and packed with nutrients (triple the amount of Vitamin A than spinach!). Bake it for 15 minutes and you’re left with a nutritious, chip-like texture that’s sure to be a hit.
Side note – be sure to make the amount you’re going to eat that day/sitting because the chips will start to lose their crisp
1 bundle of Curly Kale (rinse, pull the leafy parts off of the rib, tear into fairly big pieces *they will shrink)
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Place the pieces of kale onto a foiled pan.
Drizzle kale with olive oil, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Mix with your hands until each piece of kale is coated evenly with the oil and spices.
Place in the oven for 15 minutes or until the leaves start to brown on the edges.
They will have a thin, crispy, chip-like texture.
Let cool and dig in!
*Feel free to play around with your favorite spices and see what flavor combinations you like best! Rosemary, basil, italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, cumin, even curry powder…the options are endless!
**The first time we made kale chips, Frank created a spicy mixture of olive oil mixed with sriracha sauce. Follow the exact same steps as the above recipe but combine the oil with hot sauce before pouring over the kale. Let me tell ya…they were spicy and delicious!

I have only ever tried kale chips and sweet potato chips; both delicious and nutritious! I definitely want to try apple chips one of these days…with cinnamon and spices…yummmmm!
