Happy Friday y’all – we made it!
Here’s some of my favorites from this week. There are quite a few…I think that’s a sign of a great week!

Favorite Cause: As many of you know, I have been conducting my master’s research in collaboration with a non-profit organization and generating engagement. Our focus is on educating girls around the world. This week marked Malala’s birthday, an international youth advocate for the development of women and girls around the world. Learn more about the organization and see how you can show your support for the cause!
Favorite Workout: On Monday evening, Frank and I were feeling a little bit better and slightly less sore after our race on Saturday morning. Since we hadn’t strength trained in a while, we wanted to get in a good circuit workout and feel the burn! Frank found this gem of a workout a while ago, so we’ve done this workout before and I’m glad he brought it back into our lives the other day. It’s a surfer’s workout which literally uses every muscle in your body during every move that you do!
The workout and a rough idea of how we completed it:
- Following a dynamic warm-up…
- Complete three rounds of the circuit
- In between each round, do 30 seconds each of jumping jacks and battle ropes for a little cardio
- Finish with a 3 minute ab burnout (Frank just told me what to do during this ab workout, but basically, you’re doing 3 straight minutes of abs and switching every 15-25 reps)

Favorite Recipe (s): These healthy salad dressing recipes from http://www.fitsugar.com are just the type of thing you need to switch up your regular lunchtime meal! I tend to be a creature of habit when it comes to salad dressing; olive oil, balsamic, salt and pepper. If I’m feeling spontaneous I’ll add dijon mustard to the mix (Wow! Calm down Kaylen!). In reality though, salad dressing is a key player to any bowl of delicious and vibrant veggies. Why not switch it up and try something new? PLUS, it doesn’t hurt that you can do it in a healthy way!
